This
clinical experience programme will provide participants with an
overview of the spectrum of malignant disease. The manifestation,
presentation, investigation and management of a range of common
solid tumour types (breast, lung, colorectal, gynaecological, gastrointestinal,
prostate) will be reviewed. Clinicians active in these areas will
examine patient management throughout the process. The context of
cancer care will also be reviewed including the epidemiology of
cancer and factors affecting treatment choices and prescribers'
decision-making.
This clinical experience programme combines taught lectures and
clinical visits, providing a unique opportunity for delegates to
experience, first hand, the assessment and treatment options utilised
within the overall management of patients with malignant disease.
Open discussions and case presentations form a key element of this
programme. Delegates will also have the opportunity to interact
with patients in small group sessions.
