Advances
in biomarker development are revolutionising the way diseases are
studied, diagnosed and treated. In this time of high clinical development
costs and declining success rates, the importance of biomarkers
is a principal factor in transforming drug discovery, molecular
diagnostics and clinical development. Delegates will have the opportunity
to discuss and recognise the potential of biomarkers and how they
can help the development and commercialisation process. The course
will examine the emerging role of biomarkers in both clinical practice
and R&D in a number of therapy areas. Data and statistical issues
in biomarker discovery and validation will be explained, as will
the value of trial design to evaluate biomarkers for use in clinical
practice.
Additionally, experts will look at the processes
involved in the development of biomarkers and the future landscape
for this developing area. Examples and discussion sessions are inherent
throughout, encouraging a lively and positive learning environment.
