This two-day course will provide delegates with an understanding of Parkinson’s Disease and the rapidly evolving developments in the understanding and treatment of this disease.

Key concepts concerning the aetiology and the underlying pathology of Parkinson's Disease will be explained and the spectrum of clinical presentations reviewed. Investigative methods, focusing on imaging, will be addressed along with the differential diagnosis. The values and limitations of these techniques in both clinical practice and research will be evaluated.

Current pharmacological management as well as surgical options will be discussed with specific attention placed on future directions and important innovations in the field.

The challenges of clinical trial design for Parkinson's Disease therapies will be explored with a focus on patient selection, evaluative methods and key rating scales used in clinical research.

Additionally, delegates will benefit from hearing the experiences of a patient living with Parkinson's Disease. Discussion time and group work will provide opportunities throughout the course for questions and debate.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for pharmaceutical industry personnel from clinical research, medical affairs and regulatory functions as well as individuals in strategic marketing and business functions.

 

Fees

The registration fee is £1,725 plus VAT. This includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Accommodation costs are not included.

Accommodation

Accommodation costs are not included in the course fee. However, Healthcare has organised a special bed and breakfast rate at the venue for delegates who require overnight accommodation - details of how to book will be provided with registration documentation.
